Having obtained the necessary planning permission to build our cattery during the early part of 1998, we actually started building towards the end of the summer that same year. Having a husband that enjoys wood work we decided to build the cattery ourselves.
We finally managed to open for our first 'little fur person' guest called Candy, on 9th February 1999 and as you can see from the picture below, it snowed on our first day!
We decided to start our boarding cattery following seven years of fostering for the local Cat Protection group. We kept getting asked if we could board cats which obviously we couldn't. Having looked around locally, at that time there were no local cat only establishments and so we decided to give it a try. The rest, as they say, is history and we are now in our 12th year :)
